Acupuncture -- Acupuncture, with centuries of refinement by generations of highly skilled doctors, is a way of treating disease by the insertion of fine needles into specific points. Acupuncture releases muscle spasms, regulates the endocrine system, relaxes tissues, increases circulation, alleviates pain, and more. Traditionally, the mechanisms of acupuncture have been described using the term 'Qi,' which is usually translated as 'Vital Energy'. The traditional theory, empirical observations described in terms of natural metaphors, is a beautiful, self-contained system with its own internal logic. Western science no longer asks "if" acupuncture works, but "why" it works.
Chinese Herbs -- Herbology has a longer history than acupuncture, as it developed out of the search for edible plants. In Chinese Herbal Medicine hundreds of plants, minerals, and animal substances are combined in complex formulas to treat almost every manifestation of disease. Some herbs were the first nutritional supplements, and cured deficiency diseases. Others have powerful chemicals in them which pharmaceutical corporations are rushing to synthesize and patent. This section describes some of the theories and many of the herbs from the tradition of Chinese Herbal Medicine. Most herbs can be ordered in a variety of forms.
Qi Gong -- This ancient form of exercise therapy, often translated as 'energy work' or 'breath discipline,' has similarities to Indian Yoga as well as Tai Ji (Tai Chi) and the martial arts. Combining breathing, mental focus, stretching, and movement, Qi Gong is an ideal exercise for promoting health, fitness, and stress relief. Many forms of Qi Gong imitate the motions of animals. Kevin is certified to teach Soaring Crane QiGong, and currenty teaches a weekly class.
Chinese Medicine for Women -- In ancient China, PMS was considered an imbalanced condition, not a normal part of a woman's life. Therefore, Chinese doctors (and mothers!) developed many herbal and acupuncture treatments to eliminate menstrual pain, stress, and tension. Chinese Medicine also offers excellent support for menopause and aging women, as the elderly were always revered in Chinese society. Postpartum blood deficiency was recognized as the cause of many complaints in mothers, and tonic formulas for this are well-developed.
Chinese Medicine for Men -- Everyone has heard of mysterious (often endangered) Chinese herbs for male impotence. Ancient Way provides the safest, most effective, non-endangered herbs to treat male sexual dysfunction. Affordable, effective, time tested, and usually side-effect free, Chinese Medicine for impotence has not been replaced by Viagra or any other fad. Of course, Chinese Herbal Medicine can also be useful for other male complaints, including swollen prostate, some types of hair loss, pain from injuries, anxiety/insomnia, etc. Whatever the case, full consultations are the best way to use Chinese herbs.

Taoism -- More of a natural philosophy than a religion, the original Taoism was concerned with observing the cycles of nature. There are books about "The Tao of _______," but it's still hard to get accurate information on the history and philosophy of many of the Taoist schools. With ongoing research and translation work, this growing section should satisfy those with intellectual curiosity as to what led to the incredibly complex and beautiful system of Chinese Medicine.

The 'Three Worms' are from an ancient Chinese theory about the cause of aging, disease, and death itself. Parasites, both visible and microscopic, which feed off of grains and sugars, sap their human host of nutrition, will-power, and mental clarity. What to do about it? The Daoists (Taoists) developed detailed dietary and herbal treatments to rid the body of all unwanted 'guests'.
