The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, in Portland, Oregon, is one of the leading institutions training Chinese Medicine students to be primary care medical professionals. An intensive three year program, culminating in a full year of internship in the busy student clinic, OCOM currently graduates around 50 Oriental Medicine practitioners a year, with a Master's Degree of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Several of the professors are doctors from China, who teach classes, supervise interns in the clinic, and treat patients in the clinic so students can observe the living tradition of Chinese Medicine.
