Dietary Therapy

Eat good foods, avoid bad foods, and make sure your digestive system is clean and efficient. While nutrition and dietary therapy are generally summed up by those principles, the interpretation of them varies widely. Here are a few basic dietary principles:

1. Don't eat until you're stuffed. There's a Chinese saying that you should eat until your stomach is 1/2 full of food, 1/4 full of water, and 1/4 full of air.

2. Don't eat too many refined carbohydrates--focus on vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and healthy fats (i.e. fish, seeds).

3. Eat things that have been around longer than 100 years. MSG, Aspartame/Nutrasweet, the FD&C rainbow, and genetically modified foods don't belong in the body of someone trying to create maximum health, in my opinion.

4. Moderation and common sense.

5. Cravings may be allergies or indicators of a dietary deficiency. If you're not able to figure them out and have cravings disappear, work with a local qualified healthcare practitioner who cares about these things.
