One of my favorite teachers, Dr. Liu Guo Hui, picked these 10
prescriptions as the his personal Top 10. Explore them all, and
take a peek inside the theory and tradition of Chinese Herbal
Medicine.
1. Xiao Yao San "Free and Easy Wanderer" (for Liver Qi stagnation--perhaps PMS
or emotional stress)
2. Liu Wei Di Huang Wan "Six Herbs Earth Yellow Pill" (to tonify
Yin, especially of the Kidneys)
3. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang "Tonify the Center, Rectify the Energy
Decoction" (tonify the Spleen Qi and aid digestion)
4. Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan "Golden Cabinet Kidney Energy Pill" (tonify
the Kidney Qi)
5. Er Chen Tang "Two Cured Decoction" (treats phlegm, especially
where it interferes with digestion)
6. Ba Zhen Tang "Eight Treasures Soup" (for Blood and Qi deficiency--a
pale, easily fatigued person)
7. Gui Pi Tang "Restore the Spleen Decoction (Spleen and Heart
Deficiency--forgetfullness, insomnia, anxiety)
8. Yin Qiao San "Lonicera and Forsythia Powder" (For external
invasions of wind-heat--early colds/flus)
9. Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang "Drive Statis from the Blood Mansion Decoction"
(for pain, especially in the chest)
